About Agate Publishing
Doug Seibold, president and publisher, founded Agate in 2003. Formerly executive editor of The Noble Press, he most recently was founding editorial director of UNext, an online education company that creates graduate-level business coursework in partnership with Stanford University, the University of Chicago, and other leading universities.
Perrin Davis, senior vice president for editorial services, is responsible for Agate's editorial production effort. She has worked in a wide breadth of editorial roles with organizations in the Chicago and Atlanta areas. Most recently she directed a $5 million-per-year publishing operation for a 150,000-member healthcare association.
Eileen Johnson, executive vice president, global sales, is responsible for Agate's direct sales, client sales, and subsidiary rights licensing efforts. Most recently she was vice president of business development for Kaplan Publishing, and before that national accounts manager for Thomson Learning.
Diana Slickman, associate publisher, was formerly associate publisher for the small Chicago-based press Hope & Nonthings, which publishes works by punk-rock authors and Chicago theater playwrights and performers.
Al Brandtner, design director, is responsible for cover and book design for Agate. A veteran Chicago-based design professional, he is the principal of Brandtner Design, and has designed numerous book and CD and record covers.
