The New York Times takes note. Martha Southgate speaks sensibly–though one wishes that her effort to go “beyond our community” wasn’t languishing for lack of attention from its creators. Otherwise, more heat than light here (and some pretty old recycled light at that), though I suppose that’s the way one talks to the New York Times about these kinds of things. For what it’s worth, I am reading the prominently mentioned Victor LaValle’s Big Machine right now—one of those books you get more than half way through with no damn idea where it’s taking you.
