Slate‘s Jack Shafer goes deep on the recent Washington Post lifts (by Sari Horwitz) from the Arizona Republic. Shafer plunges into exploring how the ultimate cost of plagiarism is to the reader (still pondering this here), but the money quote is from Post executive editor Marcus Brauchli: “There are no mitigating circumstances for plagiarism.”
