I, STEVE: STEVE JOBS IN HIS OWN WORDS, a collection of more than 200 quotes by Steve Jobs drawn from public statements, interviews, and speeches over the course of his 35-year career, will be published on Wednesday, October 19.
Agate acquired I, STEVE, edited by George Beahm, in June, and originally scheduled it for a March 2012 release. When Jobs resigned as Apple CEO last month, Agate moved up the publication date to November 15. Since Jobs’s death on October 5, Agate has been working hard to move up the publication date yet again, in response to the enormous reaction to the book from media, retailers, and readers.
“Interest in this book has gone through the roof!” said Kim Wylie, VP of sales for Publishers Group West, Agate’s distributor. “We’re working closely with Agate and our booksellers to meet the demand.”
Doug Seibold, president of Agate, says that the first copies will begin shipping out on Monday, October 10.
